Mrs. W. H. Woodring, 95, Fractured hip in Fall
Mrs. Ellen Martha Woodring, 85, of Belfast, widow of Wilson
H. Woodring died yesterday about 6 p.m. in Easton Hospital,
after a short illness.
Mrs. Woodring had been in good health until July 27 when she
suffered a broken hip in a fall while visiting her son, Earl
W. Woodring, of Parkwood, Palmer Township.
Born in Williams Township; the deceased was a daughter of
George and Lucinda Unangst Steckel. She resided for a brief
time at Bogota, N.J. with her daughter, but had spent most
of her life in Easton.
Prior to her admission to the hospital, Mrs. Woodring resided
in Belfast with her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Lovelle. She was of
the Lutheran faith, and would have been 96 years old on Aug.
25, her husband died in 1937.
Surviving, in addition to her son and daughter are two other
daughters, Mrs. Cora Morris, of Hackensack, N.J. and Mrs. Charlotte
Little, of Bogota, three other sons, Russell, Ralph and Leroy,
all of Easton; 17 grandchildren; eight Great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Mrs. Ira F. Illick and Mrs. Alice Raub, Both of
Easton R.D. 4 and a brother Wilson Steckel, of Easton. |
