Perry Woodring Dies
Operated Taxi Service Here for 17 Years
Perry E. Woodring proprietor of the Woodring Taxi and U Drive it service in Easton,
and former railroader, died at the Easton Hospital at 8:05 this morning. Mr.
Woodring resided at 929 Washington street. He was admitted to the hospital on
July 17 for surgical treatment. Mr. Woodring would have been 54 years old on
Thursday.
He operated a taxi service during the past 17 years and before
entering that business he was an engineer on the Lehigh Valley
Railroad. Mr. Woodring was a Republican in politics and was
a candidate for county treasurer eight years ago. He was a
member of the Christ Evangelical church, Camp No. 407, P. O.
S. of A., and the Brother hood of Locomotive engineers.
Mr. Woodring is survived by his wife, Mrs. Blanche Oliver
Woodring; six children; Wilson H.P., Donald, Gladys, Earl and
Lois, all of Easton, and Mrs. Irene, Wife of Levi Rush of Finesville,
N.J; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson H. Woodring, of Easton,
and the following brothers and sisters, Oscar, Ralph, Russell,
Roy and Earl Woodring, of Easton; Mrs. Cora Morris and Miss
Lottie Woodring, of Bogata, N.J. Miss Hazell Wooding, at home,
Mrs. Maud Jacoby, of Alhambra, Calif., and Mrs. Charles Friend,
of Ridgefield Park,, N.J. He also leaves three grandchildren.
