Woodring Russell S. Woodring, 89, formerly of Easton, died yesterday in Gracedale, Nazareth R.D. 1. Born in Williams Township on Oct. 19, 1886, he was a son of the late Wilson and Ellen Steckel Woodring. He retired in 1959 as a conductor of the Lehigh Valley Railroad, where he was employed for 48 years. His wife, the former Nellie C. Kanter, died in Oct 1971. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Aaron Buss, Easton; Mrs. Louis Johnson, Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Mrs. John Dold, Anaheim, Calif.; a son Russell of Phillipsburg; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
