Mrs. Walter Transue
Mrs. Gertrude Stem Transue, 83, of 1304 Blair St., Palmer Township, died today in Easton Hospital where she was a patient since Thursday.

He first husband, Leander K. Stem, died in 1934. She was also the widow of Walter Transue.

Born October 9, 1885, in Williams Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Grube, she was a life-long resident of the Easton Area.

Surviving are three sons, Raymond E. Stem, Easton; Leander K. Stem Jr., Wilson, and Floyd E. Stem, Forks Township; a stepson, Levinus Transue, Salt Lake City, Utah; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence Holdsworth, with whom she lived; Mrs. Hazel Sargent, Mrs. Mabel Hummel and Mrs. Ethel Golden, all Wilson; four brothers, Arthur Grube, Ithaca, N.Y.; Wallace and Dewey, both Williams Township, and Joseph, Miami, Florida; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Ashton Funeral Home.
