Mabel L. Hummel
Mabel L. Hummel, 94, formerly of Freemansburg Avenue, Wilson Borough, died Thursday, jan. 2, 2003, in Country Meadows in Bethlehem Township, Pa.
Born on October 22, 1908, in Easton, a daughter of the late Leander and Gertrude Grube Stem.
Her husband, Paul H., died in 1989.
She had been employed by the former Di-Lu Lingerie Co. in Easton for many years, retiring in 1970. Prior to that, she was employed by the former Seamproof Co. in Easton.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Nazareth.
She was a member of the Eastern Star No. 214 Chapter in Easton. She bowled with the Flower League at Bar Don Lanes in Palmer Township.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The brothers, Raymond, Leander Jr., and Floyd, and three sisters, Ethel Golden, Bertha Holdsworth and Hazel Sargent all died earlier.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton streets, Easton. Call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine in Palmer Township. |
