Harley B. Kelchner
Harley B. Kelchner, 51 years old, died suddenly this morning from the
results of a heart attack at his home, 309 Cherokee street, Bethlehem.
He was born in Eston, Feb. 7, 1892, son of Milton and the late Elizabeth
Hartzell Kelchner. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Reformed
church, Farmersville, and was employed by Bethlehem Steel Company as
chief engineer of machine shops, 2,3,8,9, and 17.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Ebner Kelchner; six sons: "Charles
M., U.S. Navy; Harley E. U.S. Marines; Ned,Bethlehem R.D.4; Willis
B., Raymond O., and Bruce A. Kelchner, living at home; three daughters,
Mrs. Paul T. Young. Easton R.D. 2, Mrs. Francis Schadler, Bethlehem,
and Miss Lois Kelchner, at home: His father, who lives in Easton: four
brothers; William and Elwood, Easton; Sterling, Easton R.D.2, and Floyd,
Bethlehem; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Transue and Mrs. Osborne Werkheiser,
Easton, and Mrs. Howard Edelman, Nazareth; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
home with services at 2:30 o'clock in St. John's Evangelical Reformed
Church. Farmersville. The Rev. J. J. Ehret, pastor of St. John's will
officiate.
