Mrs. Bassett, 80, Was Partner in Cleaning Firm
Mrs. Minerva M. Bassett, 80, a partner in the Bassett Cleaning Co. 127 Cattell St. died last night at her home, 125 Cattell St. She was ill a long time.
Mrs. Bassett was the widow of Harry R. Bassett, Mr. Bassett established the cleaning business established the cleaning business in 1928. After his death in 1928, Mrs. Bassett and her son, John R Bassett, continued operating the business.
Born in Raubsville, Mrs. Bassett was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Sarah Jane Diehl Kiefer. She resided in Easton most of her life.
She was member of First Evangelical Congregational Church and the William Parsons Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving, in addition to her son, John, are another son, Harry N., Easton; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Schnell, St Petersburg, Fla; a sister. Mrs. Mattie Walters, at home, and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Shilinger Funeral Home, Easton. |
