John R. Bassett, 71, Operated Cleaning Company in Easton
John R. Bassett, 71, of 127 Cattell St., Easton, died today in Easton hospital where he was admitted yesterday.
He operated Bassett Cleaning Co., Easton, from 1928 until 1974. His father, the late Harry R. Bassett, operated the shop until his death in 1928 and then he and his mother, the late Minerva M. Kiefer Bassett, operated it for many years.
Mr. Bassett was born in Easton on September 6, 1906.
He was an Army veteran of World War Ii and a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Easton; Easton Rotary Club and Brown and Lynch Post No. 9, American Legion, Easton.
Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Henderson; a daughter, ****. at home; a brother, Harry N. of Easton, and a sister, Mrs. Ralph Schnell, St. Petersburg, Fla.
Services iwll be held at 1:30 p.. Monday in the Shillinger Funeral Home, Easton. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine |
