Luther M. Kiefer
Luther M. Kiefer died last night at 6:30 o'clock at the residence of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank T. Marshall, of 2128 Butler Street. He had been in failing health for three months, but had been confined to his bed for the last eight days.
Mr. Kiefer was born on the South Side, a son of teh late Edward J and Sarah Diehl Kiefer, and had been a resident of Easton his entire lifetime. He was a carpenter by trade, and for 50 years resided at 821 Cooper street.
He is survived by four children: ?? of New Brunswick, N.J. ; Raymond J. Kiefer, of Phillipsburg, Mrs. Willis S. Serfass, and Mrs. Frank T. Marshall, both of Easton; four brothers and four sisters, William N. Kiefer, of Bethlehem; Elmer Kiefer, of Stroudsburg; Edward and Israel Kiefer, both of Easton; Mrs. William Bright, of Bethlehem, and Mrs. Thomas Fishler, Mrs. Harry Bassett, and Mrs. Howard Walters, of Easton. He also leaves seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kiefer was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical-Reformed Church, Vanderveer Lodge No 1105, I.O.O.F., and the Carpenters Union No 329.
