Popular Postal Clerk Heart Attack Victim
Marcus L. Kiefer, a clerk at the Easton Post office for the past 16 years, died suddenly at 12:25 o'clock this morning at his home, 534 Nesquehoning street. He had been ill with pneumonia since Saturday but his death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Keifer was a native of this city and was popularly know throughout this section, especially among his fellow employees at the post office. He was born on October 9, 1886, and was therefore 43 years old.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sarah M. Kiefer, a daughter, Miss Emma Kiefer, a nurse in training at the Lankenau hospital, Philadelphia; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Kiefer, of Cooper street, and two brothers and two sisters; Dr. Walter E. Kiefer, of Jamaica, L.I; Raymond J. Kiefer, of Easton, and Mrs. Willis Serfass, and Mrs. Frank Marshall, both of Easton.

He was a member of St. Peter's Reformed church, Vanderveer Lodge, No. 1105, I.O.O.F, Easton. Encampment, No. 196, and Canton Lafayette, No. 22, Odd Fellows, the Ancient Order of Samaritans and the Letter Carriers and Clerks Association.
