Dorothy Bassett Schnell, founded Sunday School
Memorial services were held Sunday for Dorothy Bassett Schnell, formerly of Easton, at the Evangelical Congregational Church, Easton. Mrs. Schnell died Sept 11 in the Masonic Home, Elizabethtown, PA. Interment was in St. Petersburg, Fla.
She and her husband, the late Ralph Schnell, worked for many years in the Civil Service in Balboa Canal Zone.
In the 1930's she started Sunday school classes in her parents home. The Sunday School grew rapidly and permission was given to meet in the school building on Nazareth Road, where she formed the Palmer Heights Sunday School.
Among her survivors is a brother, Harry Bassett of Easton. |
