Edward was a painter later in life; he painted landscapes
and several still life's. This gift was passed down to his great-grandson,
co-author of genealogy.
Edward never remarried after his wife died, he raised the children
with the help of a maid, in pictures she is identified as Elsie.
Edward Kester, 79, Area Truck Farmer
Edward F. Kester, 79, who resided with his son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Kester, Coffeetown, Easton R D 4 died at about
9:15 P.M. yesterday in Easton Hospital. He was admitted March 7. He
was ill several weeks.
Mr. Kester formerly lived in Williams Township;. He resided with his
son for the last five years.
Born in Easton Sept 18, 1880 he was the son of the late William Kester
and Amelia Sundermier Kester.
Mr. Kester was a truck farmer since 1930. In the early part of his
life he was employed by the old Lehigh Valley Shops in South Easton
as a machinist. He also worked at the Ingersoll-Rand Co during World
War I. He was last employed at the Easton Car and Construction Co.
He retired from farming five years ago. |
