Walter E. Stofflet, World War I Vet
Walter E. stofflet, a native of Easton, died last night in Veterans Hospital, Coatesville, where he was a patient 35 years.
At one time he worked as a storehouse clerk for Penn Dixie Cement Co. at plant 4, bath,. He last resided at 54 S. New St., Nazareth.
Mr. Stofflet was a son of the late Abraham J. and Henrietta Uhler Stofflet of the College Hill area, Easton.
He served with the Army’s Company C. 1st Railroad Engineers, in Germany during World War I.
He was a member of St. John’s United church of Christ, Nazareth; American Legion Post 415 and the IOOF both of Nazareth.
His wife, the former Mabel Shepard, died nine years ago.
Surviving are three son, Elwood, Bath R.D1; Gordon, Gouldsboro, and Walter Reed, Nazareth; a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur Leh, Nazareth; two brothers, Maurice, Detroit, and Millard, Hamburg; three sisters, Mrs. Miriam Johnson, Nazareth, Mrs. Cula Dawes, palmer Heights, and Mrs. Mayme Krimble, Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bensing Funeral Home, Moorestown. |
