Ellwood “Reds” Stofflet
Ellwood E. “Reds” Stofflet, 88 of Moorestown, pa, died Saturday, may 19, 2007, I the Bough Healthcare Center Bethlehem, Surrounded by his daughters.
Born: August 25, 1918, in Nazareth, a son of the late Walter R. and Mabel Shephard Stofflet.
Personal: His wife, the former Mary Bensing, passed on October 29, 2002.
Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was employed as a shift foreman at Lone Star Industries, Nazareth for 35 years. Before that, he had worked as a heat treater at Bethlehem Steel for 5 years and also worked several years at price Battery, Hamburg, Pa.
Memberships: Ellwood was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Moorestown. He was also a member of the Point Philips Rod and Gun Club, the Four county fireman’s Association and the Pennsylvania Fireman’s Association.
Survivors: his daughters, ***** and her husband ******, of Edgewater, Fla., *****: and her husband ******, of Brownsburg, Ind. and ******. and her husband ******, of Bethlehem; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren: his brother, *****, of Lake Ariel, Pa.; and his sister, *****. and her husband, ***** of Nazareth.
He was predeceased by his brother, Walter Reed Stofflet.
Services: Memorial Funeral services to celebrate Ellwood’s life will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2007, in Salem United church of Christ Moorestown, with Rev. Richard Reidy officiating, Friends and family may call 10 a.m. to time of service in the church. Philip J. Bensing, funeral director at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 North Ninth Street, Stroudsburg, Pa., is in charge of the arrangements. |
