Sydney E. Stocker
Sydney E. Stocker, a well known lumber merchant of Easton, died
suddenly of apoplexy at 12:30 this morning at his home, 1230
Washington Street, aged 59 years. The deceased returned from
a trip South about a month ago. He is survived by his wife and
two daughters, Mrs. Charles Arner and Mrs. Henry Beyer, of this
city. The deceased also leaves four brothers, George Stocker
of Allentown; John Stocker of Reading and James Stocker and W.U.
Stocker of Easton. James Stocker resides on the South Side.
Mr. Stocker was a native of Easton. For a number of years
he was superintendent of the Richards Iron ore mines in Williams
Township. During the past 15 years he was engaged in the lumber
business. The deceased was a member of Star Council, Royal
Arcanum and of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. |
