Mrs. Catharine Lear
Mrs. Catharine Lear, wife of Jacob Lear, died at her home, no. 232 North Jefferson Street, Allentown, Monday morning, of apoplexy, aged seventy-three years, after an illness of three years. Mrs. Lear was born in Mt. bethel, Northampton County, and was a daughter o f the late Philip and Elizabeth Sandt. She was married on October 4, 1856,at Easton to her surviving husband, Besides her husband, the following children survive: Dr. John Lear, of Allentown; Philip of Pen Argyl and Charles of Allentown, Mrs. Joseph Michael of Easton, is the only surviving sister of a large family. The deceased was a member of Trinity Reformed Church. The funeral will take place for her late home o Wednesday morning, when brief services will take place in the chapel of Easton Cemetery at 2 o’clock p.m., where interment will take place.
