George Kiefer
George Kiefer, a well-known retired citizen of Easton, died
at 12:45 Sunday afternoon at his home, 309 North Ninth street,
of paralysis. For the past three weeks he had been confined
to this home and ten days ago was stricken with paralysis.
A second stroke occurred on Saturday evening and his condition
grew weaker until the end came on Sunday. He would have reached
the age of 73 years on January 20.
Mr. Kiefer was a native of Lower Mt. Bethel, and was a son
of Joseph and Malinda Kiefer, deceased. For many years he followed
farming in Lower Mt. Bethel and retired about 22 years ago
and moved to this city. He is survived by his wife and one
son, Roy, of this city, and by a granddaughter, Ethel Kiefer.
He also leaves two brothers ,Calvin Kiefer of Easton and Albert
Keifer, of Martin's Creek, and three sisters, Mrs. Lenora Edmiston,
and Miss Ida Kiefer, of Easton, and Mrs. Jerome Savitz, of
Glassboro, N.J.
Deceased was a member of the First Reformed church and also
of the men's Brotherhood, of that church. |
