Found Cousin Dead on Floor
Mrs. Morris Probably Passed Away During Early Part of Saturday
Evening
Going to visit his cousin, Mrs. Sarah Morris, who resided alone
at 1026 Bushkill street, at 11:30 o’clock Sunday morning,
Joseph H. Good, of Martin’s Creek, found her dead on
the floor in the kitchen. She had probably been dead since
Saturday evening, as she had not been seen after that time.
Coroner Fetherolf issued a certificate giving apoplexy as the
cause of death. Previous to Saturday evening her health was
considered good, and she was shopping on that day. Deceased
was the widow of the late John Morris, of Martin’s Creek
and was 63 years of age.
Mrs. Morris was a native of Martin’s Creek, and several
years ago following the death of her husband, she came to this
city to make her home. She was a member of St. Mark’s
Reformed Church, this city. Deceased is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. Albert Fangboner, of near Martin’s Creek; one son,
John L. Morris, of Bangor; her mother, Mrs. Malinda Kiefer,
of this city, who several weeks ago celebrated the ninetieth
anniversary of her birthday; also five sisters an four brothers,
Mrs. Leonora Edmundson and miss Ida Kiefer, both of Easton;
Mrs. Jesse Raub, of near harmony, N.J.; Mrs. Irvin Uhler of
Bangor; Mrs. Jerome Savitz, of Westfield, N.J., whose husband
is the superintendent of the public schoos at that place; Calvin
Kiefer, of Forks Township; George Kiefer, of Easton; Wesley
and Albert Kiefer, both of Martin’s Creek.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, with services
at the house and interment at Church Hill Cemetery.
Marshall Kiefer, who was a brother, of Mrs. Morris, died three
weeks ago at Martin’s Creek. |
