Private funeral Services for Dr. Arthur Farrington Wilhelm,
a physician in Raubsville fo the past 41 years, were held
this afternoon in the Struthers Funeral Home. Reigelsville.
The rev. Dr. Raymond C. Miller, pastor of the English Lutheran
church, Minersville and the Rev. Vinton G. McClellan, pastor
of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was in the
Rausville Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Philip Russell and
Allan Hoffman, Harry Shively and J. F. Dunlop.
Dr. Wilhelm who was 71 years old, died suddenly, Saturday
afternoon in his office while treating a patient. He was
the last of three generations to practice medicine.
He was born in Raubsville, January 9, 1879, the son of the
late Dr. Eugene and Regetta Wilhelm. He attended the Riegelsville
Academy, the Easton public schools and was graduated from
Lerch's Academy, Easton, Class of 1897. It was in that same
year that he enrolled in Lafayette College where he received
his pre-medical training. Dr. Wilhelm then entered the Old
Medico - Chirurgical Medical College, Philadelphia in 1904
and was graduated in 1909. He began his practice in August
of that year.
Dr. Wilhelm was a member of Prosperity Lodge 567, F. & A.
J. Reigelsville, Easton Chapter of Royal Arch, Masons, Pony
Council No 20, Hugh De Payens, Commandery 19, Knights Templar,
Lehigh Consistory of Allentown and the Rajah Shrine Temple
of Reading. He was also a member of Lehighton Lodge 244,
IOOF, Easton, Knights of Humanity, Raubsville, and the Pomfret
Club, Easton. He was a member of the board of directors of
the Raubsville Cemetery Company and a former member of the
Country Club of Northampton County.
Dr. Wilhelm is survived by his wife, Grace H. (Leuf) Wilhelm,
whom he married 37 years ago; one daughter, Dorothy Wilhelm,
at home, two brothers, Chester and Howard, both of Phillipsburg,
N. J. and the following five sisters: Miss Margaret Wilhelm
and Miss Maud Wilhelm, both of Easton, Mrs. Susanna Kemper,
Delaware, Mrs. Elizabeth Klotz, and Mrs. Mabel Marcs, both
of Bethlehem. |
