Former Easton Man Dies iN Alaska
Geroge Vogel Had Gone To North Country 25 Years Ago.
Wilson Vogel, of Philadelphia Road and St. Joseph Street,
received a telegram yesterday notifying him of the death of
his brother, George Vogel, in Haines, Alaska. Deceased was
a native of Easton, a son of the long deceased Mr. and Mrs.
William Vogel.
Goerge Vogel went to Alaska about 25 years ago following his
brothers, Timothy and Thomas. For several years he conducted
a store and a hotel but of late years was in the canning business..
He visted in easton two years ago. He is survived by three
sisters, Miss Ida and Celia Vogel, of Easton, and Mrs. Chester
Smith, of Seattle, Washington, and three brothers, Wilson,
of Easton, and Timothy and Thomas living in the West.
The telegram stated that he had been ill only a week. No other
particulars of his sudden death are available. |
