BANGOR RESIDENT WAS MOTHER OF COUNTY TREASURER
Mrs. Mary Shook Steckel, widow of Wilson Steckel, died last night at her home, 41 Market street, Bangor, after a brief illness.

A native and life-long Bangor resident, she was a daughter of the late Reuben and Emoline Miller Shook.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church; the Woman's Missionary Society, and Trinity Mothers, both of the church; the senior Woman's Club, and Ethel Chapter 172, Order of Eastern Star, all of Bangor. Mrs. Steckel's husband died a year ago.

Surviving are three children, Charles R. Steinmetz, Northampton County treasurer; Dr. Clarence Steinmetz, and Mrs. Raymond Jackson, all of Bangor, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Hough funeral home, Bangor, with the Rev. J. Frederick Stolte, Ph.D., pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. John's cemetery
