Dr. Steinmetz, 76, Bangor Optometrist
Dr. Clarence J. Steinmetz, 76, a Bangor Optometrist for many years, died last night in Stroud Manor, East Stroudsburg, where he was a guest two months.
He lived at 21 N. 4th St., Bangor.
Born in Bangor, he was a son of the late Oliver J. Steinmetz and Mary Shook Steinmetz Steckel. He was graduated from Bangor High School in1911 and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Philadelphia.
Dr. Steinmetz practiced optometry in Bangor until several years ago.
He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bangor; Bangor Lodge of Elks 1106 and the Pennsylvania Optometry Society.
Survivors include his widow, the former Mary Hershey; a daughter, Bethlehem, a sister, Mrs. Raymond Jackson, Bangor, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at the convenience of the family at the Hough home for funerals, Bangor. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Bangor.
