John W. "Jack" Metler Sr., 73, of Wind Gap died Thursday,
July 16, in his home.
He was a clerk in the Lehigh Valley Post Office for 17 years before
retiring. Previously, he owned and operated an Atlantic service station
in Bethlehem and an Esso service station in Easton. He also worked
at the Bethlehem Steel Corp.
Born in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Edgar A. Sr. and Lydia
(Conine) Metler.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, Wind
Gap, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Survivors: Daughter, and two granddaughters.
He was predeceased by a son, John W. Jr., and a daughter, Mary.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Strunk Funeral Home, 602 W. Berwick St.,
Easton. Call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday. |
