Francis McKee, 80, of 260 W. Lincoln St., Easton, died Saturday
in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He
was the husband of Pearl (Bellesfield) Frace McKee.
He was a guard at Ingersoll-Rand Co., Phillipsburg, for
about 38 years before retiring about 16 years ago.
A former area boxer, McKee and his twin brother, the late
Frank McKee, were known as the "Fighting McKee" boxing
twins many years ago.
Born in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late John and
Rose McKee.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Easton.
A World War II veteran, he was in the Army for 13 years,
and held the rank of sergeant. McKee boxed as a welterweight
and a lightweight in the 3rd Army Corps with a record of
92 wins and one loss.
Surviving with his widow are a brother Roy of Easton, a
stepson, Herman Frace of Saylorsburg; a stepdaughter, Betty
Anders of Palmer Township, and five step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Calling
hours will be after 7 p.m. Monday in the Morello Funeral
Home, 201 S. 12th St., Easton. |
