Mrs. Peter Arnold
Mrs. Mary L. Arnold, 54 years old, wife of Peter Arnold, of
718 West Wilkes-Barre Street died at 9:25 o’clock last
night at Easton Hospital. She was admitted as a medical patient
on Dec. 4, and underwent an operation 10 days ago.
Mrs. Arnold was a life-long was a life-long resident of South
Side and was the daughter of the late Terrence and Sarah Coyle
McCabe. She was active in local civic and fraternal affairs
and had many friends in this area.
Mrs. Arnold was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church,
the B.V.M. Sodality and the Catholic Women’s Educational
association of the church; Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association,
Red Cross sewing unit, Red Cross Blood Donors league, Mothers
Auxiliary of Boy Scout Troop V-15, Rosalind Circle, Companions
of Foresters, and the Webster Civilian Defense Casualty station.
Surviving are her husband, four children, Mrs. Francis J.
Pasch, Jr., of Phillipsburg; Pvt. Peter F. Arnold, location
unknown; Cpl. James J. Arnold, Somewhere in England; and Philip,
at home; three brothers, William J. McCabe Sr., Terrence McCabe
and Alfred A. McCabe, chief deputy sheriff or Northampton County;
and one sister, Sadie V. McCabe.
