Anna E. Stamets, 81, of 650 Corliss Ave., Phillipsburg, died
Tuesday in the Eastwood Convalescent Home, Wilson, where
shehad been a guest since April 1981.
Early in her life she was employed by the old Stewart Silk
Mill and the former Continental Silk Mill, both Easton.
Born Sept 24, 1900, in Easton, she was a daughter of the late
William and Matilda Sigafoos Knoble. She lived in the Phillipsburg
area all her life.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Straw Church,
the Lutheran Church Women and a former member of the missionary
Society and Friendship Group of the church.
Her husband, Amos Stamets, died in 1964.
Surviving are a daughter,
two brothers, Thomas Knoble, Phillipsburg, and William Knoble,
Morris Park, Lopatocong Township; a sister, Mrs. Howard S.
Sigafoos, Huntington, Pohatcong Township, and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in St. James Church.
Interment will be in St. James Cemetery. The Rupell Funeral
Home, Phillisburg, is in charge of arrangments
