Samuel J. Hevener
Samuel J. Hevener, well known Eastonian, died at his home,
754 Walnut street, yesterday afternoon from heart trouble
after an illness of nine weeks. He was born in Easton and
lived here all his life. He was 61 years of age.
Forty-one years ago he started a teaming business in Easton
and followed that work for 28 years. he then took a position
as a gate man with the Ingersoll-Rand Company at the Phillipsburg
plant and remained there for nine years. During the past
four years he was employed at the gate of the William Wharton,
Jr., Company, Inc., plant.
Mr. Hevener is survived by his wife, Mary; four daughters,
Mrs, Harold Bowlby, of Detroit, Mich., and the Misses Irene,
Ruth and Edith, all at home, and a son Carl, of Easton. He
was a member of First Reformed Church, Easton, and the Woodmen
of the World. |
