C.S. Hevener, Bell Employee for 44 years
Carl S. Hevener, 83, of 2207 Fairview Ave., Wilson, died
this morning in the Eastwood Convalescent Home, Wilson, where
he was a patient two months.
Mr. Hevener was employed by Bell Telephone Co. more than
44 years, retiring in 1957.
Born in Easton on June 19, 1892, he was a son of the late
Samuel and Mary Weber Hevener.
He and his wife, the former Anna Trach, celebrated their
55th wedding anniversary last June 26.
He was a member of Memorial United Church of Christ, Wilson,
and Lester Pfeffer Post 611, American Legion, Wilson. He
was an Army veteran of World War II
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Llewellyn Hagenbuch,
Lafayette, N.J. and Mrs. William Shuttleworth, Wilson; three
sisters, Mrs. Ruth Freer, Miss Edith Hevener and Mrs. Martha
Bowlby, all of Easton, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Shillinger
Funeral Home, Easton. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery. |
