Arvilla Mae Stevens -- had dairy, horse farms
... Arvilla Mae Stevens, 91, formerly of Upper Little Creek Road, Bangor, died
Wednesday, Nov. 1, in Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bangor.
Along with her husband, she was owner and operator of Stevendale
Dairy Farm in Bangor for 35 years. Along with her husband and
three of their sons, she was founder and owner and operator
of Wil-Or-El Arabian Horse Farms in Bangor for 28 years.
Born
March 28, 1909, in Lower Mount Bethel Township, she was a
daughter of the late George R. and Lilli Deats Good. She resided
in Lower Mount Bethel Township.
She was a member of Trinity
United Church of Christ in Mount Bethel. She was a member
of the Order of the Eastern Star Shutanka for more than 65
years. She was a member of Blue Valley Garden Club in Bangor.
Her husband, Ernest M., died in 1984.
She is survived by a
son, Wilfred E. of Bangor; two stepsisters, Cora Husky
of Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Grace James of Horatio, S.C.; grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. Three sons died earlier: Larry
in in 1943, Eldon in 1968 and Orin in 1969. A brother, Earl;
and two sisters, Lottie Yetter and Grace Keifer, also all
died earlier.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in
the James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, 6602 Alpha Ave., Martins
Creek. Call from 10 a.m. Saturday to time of services in
the funeral home. . Burial will be in Reformed Cemetery in
Stone Church, Pa. |
