Orin J. Steven, Was Injured In Car Crash
Orin J. Stevens, 34, Richmond Bangor, R.D. 2, who was injured
Sunday afternoon in a car-truck crash near Delaware Water Gap.
Died this morning in Allentown General Hospital, where he had
undergone brain surgery.
His father, Ernest Stevens, who suffered injured in the same
crash, is in critical condition in Monroe County General Hospital.
A Paterson, N.J. family of five were also injured and admitted
to the hospital.
Mr. Stevens was born in Bangor R. D. 2. His mother is Mrs.
Arvilla Good Stevens.
He was employed as a truck driver by the Chemical Leaman Tank
Lines, Stockertown.
He was treasurer of the Wil-Or-EL Arabian Horse Farms, Bangor
R.D.2.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Stone
Church; Portland Lodge, 311 F&AM; Easton Forest 35 Tall
Cedars of Lebanon, and the Portland Fire Co. He was a director
of the Lower Mount Bethel Democratic Club.
Survivors include his widow, the former Ida May Eckhardt;
a daughter, ****, at home,; a brother, Wilfred, Bangor R.D.2;
and his step-grandmother, Beulah Good, in Tennessee. A brother
Eldon died April 2, 1969, in a truck accident in Cumberland,
N.J.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Reed Funeral
Home, Johnsonville.
Masonic services will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at
the funeral home.
