Wilfred E. "Willie" Stevens, 68, of Lower Mount Bethel
Township, died Thursday, Jan. 10, in his home. He was the husband
of Rose Marie (Polo) Stevens. They were married for 39 years
last month.
He was a self-employed truck driver for Daily Express, Kuhnsville,
before retiring in 1985, where he received its Safe Drivers
Award for 15 years of driving with no accidents. Previously,
he was a dispatcher for Chemical Lehman Tank Lines, Stockertown.
He was a co- owner of Wil-Or-El Arabian Horse Farms, Bangor.
He was a past president of Penn-Jersey Horse Association and
a member of the International Arabian Horse Association.
Born in Lower Mount Bethel Township, he was a son of the late
Ernest M. and Arvilla Mae (Good) Stevens.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Stone
Church.
He was a member of the Portland Masonic Lodge 311, Bearlick
Hunting Camp, Pike County and Lower Mount Bethel Democratic
Club.
Survivors: Wife; son, **** of Bangor; daughters, ****
of Bangor, ***** in Wisconsin; three grandsons.
Services: 1 p.m. Sunday, James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, Alpha
Avenue and Route 611, Martins Creek. Call noon to 1 p.m. Sunday.
Contributions: Visiting Nurse Association Hospice of Monroe
County, East Stroudsburg, or Portland Masonic Lodge. |
