Charles Eichman, 75: Former City, Express Employee
Charles Eichman, 75, of 216 N. 8th St., Easton, died late yesterday
afternoon at his home, He had been ill since October 1958.
Mr. Eichman was superintendent of maintenance on the old Hay
(Trolley) Line for 25 years. For 20 years after that he was
a foreman for the City of Easton Bureau of Highsways, Prior
to his illneess, he was a watchman and custodian at the Easton
Express.
Born in Easton on Jan. 3, 1884, he was a son of the late Charles
W. and Mary Hageman Eichman. He was a meber of First Presbyterian
Church, Easton.
Mr. Eichman and his wife the former Pearl May Smith, marked
their 52nd wedding anniversary last May 1.
Surviving with his widow are four sons, the Rev. Charles W.
Canadeniss; Alfred P. and James E. at home, and David H., Trenton;
three daughters, Miss Belva E. Eichman, at home, Mrs. Hugh
P. Reilly, West Easton, and Mrs. John Komisor, Easton; a sister
Mrs. Mary Smith, East Hartford, Conn., and 10 grandchildren.
