He was a native of Hope township, a son of the late John and Elizbeth Hopkins Beam. He had lived in Belvidere for the last fifteen years. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Pythian Sisters of Belvidere. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy Smith Beam; one sister, Mrs. Macrina Bowne, of Washington and a brother, Amos Beam, of North Arlington.
