Mrs. Mary Josephine, wife of Charles Godley, of 402 Nesquehoning street, South
Side, died on Thursday evening about 9:30 o'clock. She had been on a visit
to her daughter, Mrs. Frank Coppock, No. 735 Centre street, and while passing
the residence of Mrs. Carrie Barr, no. 425 Centre street, on her way home,
she was attacked and fell to the pavement. She was carried into the home
of Mrs. Bar and Dr. Guiley summoned. She died in about 10 minutes after being
taken into the house. The physician said she died of heart trouble. About
fourteen years ago Mrs. Godley suffered an attack of paralysis from which
she never recovered.
The deceased was fifty-nine years of age. Besides her husband she
is survived by the following children: Mrs. William Walter, Mrs. Frank
Coppock, C. Oscar Godley, and Paul Godley, of the South Side; John
Godley, of Newark, N.J., and Raymond H. Godley, of Ashtabula, Ohio;
also by one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Louise Hartzell, of Morgan's
Hill; Thomas and John Brotzman, of South Side. The deceased was a daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Brotzman, of Williams township. She
was a member of the Delaware Street M. E. Church |
