Injuries fatal to Mrs. Walters
Fell Down Stairway at home last Thursday
Injuries received in a fall down a stairway at her home, 820 Lincoln
Street, resulted yesterday in the death of Mrs. Cora Walters, 68,
widow of William Walters. Mrs. Walters who made her home with her
son, LrRoy Walters, was asscending the stairway on hursday morning
and as she neared the top, lost her balance and fell, sustaining
fractures of the ribs on both sides and internal injuries. She was
taken to Easton Hospital Saturday afternoon and died at 7:10 o'clock
yesterday morning.
Mrs. Walters was a native of Cedarville, Williams Township and with
the exception of ten years spent in Brooklyn, N. Y. and four years
in Bangor, had spent the rest of her life in this city. Her parents
were the loate Charles R. and Mary Brotzman Godley.
Surviving are two sons, Claude Walters, of the South Side, and LeRoy
Walters, with whom she resided; ten grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Frank
Coppock, of the South Side, and three brothers: John Godley, of Bloomfield,
N.J.; Oscar Godley, of Florida and Ray Godley, of Ashtabula, P. She
attended Christ Evangelical Church. |
