Lester Beam, 73, Father of Mayor
Lester Beam, 73, of 17 N. Lincoln Ave., Washington, died unexpectedly
at his home last night. He had been in ill health for the last
year.
He was the father of Russell P. Beam, Mayor of Washington.
Born in Sarepta, he was a son of the late George F. and Daisie
Fraunfelker Beam.
Mr. Beam, who lived most of his life in Washignton, operated
a plumbing shop in Washington. He recently operated a hardware
store.
He was a member of the Washington Presbyterian Chruch and
the Mansfield Lodge No. 36, F&A.M.
Surviving include his widow, Anna Perry Beam; a sister, Mrs.
George Kaufmann, of Washington; two grandchildren and three
great-grandchldren.
The Mansfield Lodge will hold services at 8 p.m.. Friday in
the Ford Funeral Home, Washington. The funeral will be held
at 2 p.m. Saurday. |
