Marcus J. Hahn,
Marcus J. Hahn, 87, of 1133 Weiss Road in Nazareth, died today in Slate Belt Medic al Center in Bangor.

He and his wife, the former Dorothy C. Bruch, who died in 1978 farmed in the Mud Run-Plainfield Township area for 52 years. He also worked part time for C.W. Harman and Son in Belfast until retiring in 1976.

He was one of the first farmers in Plainfield to contour his land to prevent soil erosion.;

Born in Lower Mount Bethel Township, he was a son of the late James and Cula Diehl Hahn.

Mr. Hahn was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Plainfield Township; Junior order of United American Mechanics Council 308, of Easton and the Northampton-Monroe County farmers Association.

Surviving are son, Walter M. a daughter, Evelyn M. Engler and a brother, Howard, all of Nazareth; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Johns of Bangor, and Mrs. Earl Itterly of Ackermanville; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bensing Funeral Home, in Moorestown. Interment will be in Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield Township
