Death of Mrs. Dana Former Phillipsburg Woman
Mrs. Edmund S. Dana, former Miss Eliza Stocker, of Phillipsburg,
died at her home near Tunkhannock Pa, on September 10, after
an illness of several years duration. She is survived by her
husband, one daughter, Edna K, vice-principal of the High school
of Ithaca, N.Y., and a son, Herbert S. of Tunkhannock, Pa.
Funeral services were conducted at her late home Friday at
2:30 by the Rev. Fred B. Newman and interment was made in the
family plot in Sunnyside cemetery, near Tunkhannock, her casket
being borne by members of the American Legion, following a
wish often express during her lifetime.
She was educated in the public schools of Phillipsburg and
after her graduation in 1896 entered the teaching profession
to which she devoted her time for ten years and in which she
was unusually efficient. |
