Mrs. Amandus Sampson, Ex-Area Resident, 91
Mrs. Anna A. Sampson, 91 formerly of Cedarville, Easton Route
37, died yesterday in the Roanoke, VA. General Hospital.
Mrs. Sampson had resided for about six years with her daughter,
Mrs. Florence Dooley, of Bedford, VA.
Mrs. Sampson was the widow of Amandus Sampson, who died in
1915. She and her husband formerly operated the Sampson ore
mine in Williams Township.
Born in Williams Township on March 30, 1864, she was a daughter
of the late William U. and Sarah Laubach Stocker. She had lived
in the Easton Area most of her life.
She was a member of St. Paul's Third Lutheran Church, Easton;
Rosalind Circle, Companions of Foresters of America and the
ladies auxiliary of POS of A.
Surviving, besides her daughter, are a sister, Mrs. Ida Altemus
of Easton; two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Strunk Funeral Home, Easton. |
