Mrs. Amanda S. Becker
Mrs. Amanda S. Becker, 80 years old, widow of Robert G. Becker,
died at 8:15 o'clock last evening at the home of her son-in-law
and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Humberto Orlandi, 831 Brodhead Street,
after an illness of two years.
She was a native of Easton, a daughter of the late William
U. and Sarah Stocker. All her life was spent in Easton and
she had many friends in this vicinity.
Mrs. Becker was active for many years in the degree of Rebekah,
Independent Order of Odd Fellows,. She was a past Noble Grand
of Charity Lodge, No. 3, this city and in 1916 organized Mary
Alice Adam Lodge, No. 484, of this city, with which she had
since been connected. She served as a district deputy of the
order and attended many conventions and gatherings. She was
also a member of Camp No. 15, P.O. of A., Phillipsburg. She
was for many years a member of St. John's Lutheran Church,
this city. Her husband, Robert G. Becker, died in 1934. She
is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Orlandi, wife of
Humberto Orlandi; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ida
Altemus, widow of Charles Altemus; Mrs. Cornelia Barr, widow
of John R. Barr; Mrs. Anna Sampson, widow of Amandus Sampson,
all of Easton. |
