Mrs. Anna Carty
Mrs. Anna Carty, 80 years old, widow of Elias Carty, formerly of Raubsville and Easton, died on Thursday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Chamberlain, at Springfield, Mass., of a heart attack. Her death was unexpected as she was in apparently good health on retiring. She passed away in her sleep.

Mrs. Carty went to Springfield to visit her daughter on Oct. 2. She was born in Carpentersville, NJ, on August 8, 1857 and was a daughter of the late Theophilus and Eliza Moser Steckel. The family moved to Williams Township when she was 10 years of age.

She was married to Elias Carty on June 24, 1875. Mr. and Mrs. Carty lived in Raubsville until 1901 when they moved to Easton. Mr. Carty died in this city on April 11, 1906. Mrs. Carty resided at 151 South Union Street, until eight years ago and has since made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Jamison in Easton and Raubsville.

Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Carty and three are living. They are Frank Carty and Mrs. Charles Jamison, of Raubsville; Mrs. William Chamberlain, Springfield, Mass. She also leaves on sister, Mrs. Rebecca Zellers, of Easton; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was an active member of the Raubsville Methodist Episcopal Church and for many years a teacher in the Sunday School. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid Society of that church up to the time of her death. The body will be brought to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Jamison, at Raubsville, and funeral services will be held there.
