Theophilus Carty
Theophilus Carty died at 6:20 o'clock yesterday morning at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Maurer, 1062 Wilkes-Barre Street,
of a complication of ailments, aged 32 years. Deceased had
been in ill health for some time, and previous to Friday spent
a week in the Easton Hospital. He was brought to the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Maurer, and he weakened in health until death
occurred. Mr. Carty was employed as an engineer on the Lehigh
Valley railroad. He was well and favorable known, and had many
friends, many of whom will be shocked to learn of his death.
Deceased was a native of Raubsville, and is survived by his
wife, Mrs. Elsie Carty, nee Mauer; his mother, Mrs. Elias Carty,
of Easton, and the following brothers and sisters; Frank Carty,
of Raubsville, Cleveland Carty and Mrs. William Hoffal, of
Springfield, Mass, and Mrs. Charles Jamison and Mrs. William
Chamberlain, of Easton.
Mr. Carty was a member of the Methodist faith; Black Knight
Commandery, No. 109, Knights of Malta; Kirkpatrick Camp, No
233, sons of Veterans, and Onoka Lodge, No. 211 Brotherhood
of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon. Services
will be conducted at the home of Mr. And Mrs. Maurer at 2 o'clock,
and interment will be made in Hay's Cemetery. |
