Elmer C. Shook, 91, formerly of 803 S. Main St., Bangor, died Thursday in Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Washington Township. He was the husband of the late Mary C. (Stocker) Shook.
He last worked part-time as a machinist for Deshler Machine Shop, Bangor. Before that he was a mechanic at the Dixie Cup Co., Wilson, for 10 years, retiring in 1966; and a foreman at the former Julius Keyser Co., Bangor, for more than 30 years. He also repaired lawn mowers from his home.
Born in Bangor, he was a son of the late John E. and Barbara (Hausman) Shook.
He was a member of Flicksville United Church of Christ, Washington Township, where he was a member of the Faithful Few Sunday School class and the Golden Sunshiners Senior Citizens Club.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Bangor Lodge No. 565. He was formerly a member of the Lehigh Consistory, Allentown.
Survivors: Son, Derwood of Wind Gap; three grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
