William Shimer
William Shimer, of 115 Ann Street, Lachenour Heights, died last evening at his home. He had been in failing health for the past six months and 80years of age on September 24.
Mr. Shimer was born at Martin’s Creek, Lower Mt. Bethel Township and was the son of the late Abraham and Sally Ann Rosenberry Shimer. He was a retired farmer and had resided in Easton for the past 25 years.
Deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha VanNatta Shimer and by one son, Clayton V. Shimer; also by one sister, Mrs. Wilson Arbogast, Bethlehem Township, by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Shimer.
Mr. Shimer was for many years an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Fourth Street, Easton and served as an elder and deacon in the congregation. |
