Abram. Shimer
Abram. Shimer, a retired farmer of Martin’s creek, died on Thursday night. He was 77 years of age. His demise was not entirely unexpected, since he has been an invalid for a long time. Mr. Shimer always lived at Martin’s creek and during his long life held the esteem of his neighbors and acquaintances. Some years ago h gave up farming and moved on a small lot on which he had erected a fine country house, surrounded with all the conveniences that one could desire. His wife, herself in poor health, survives him, as do also his three sons. Joseph Shimer, the wholesale provision dealer of Phillipsburg, N.J, John C. Shimer, a prosperous farmer of Martin’s Creek, and Wm. Shimer, who now occupies the old homestead at that place. Mr. Shimer was always a consistent Christian. He was on of the founders of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Martin’s Creek and gave liberally to its support. He was an earnest Republican and a hearty supporter of his party.

Funeral on Monday at 11 a.m. at the house. Interment in Lower Mt. Bethel cemetery.
