Joseph D. Shimer
Joseph D. Shimer died at 11:45 o’clock this morning at his home, 45 North Eighth street, of general debility, in the 70th year of his age. In November last Mr. Shimer and his wife celebrated the golden anniversary of their wedding. During the past summer Mr. Shimer’s heath had been failing and he was seriously ill during the past six weeks.
Deceased who was a retired farmer, formerly resided at Martin’s Creek. H came to Easton about 10 years ago and made his home in this city since that time. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Rev. H. D. Shimer, Of Hudson, N.Y.; C. B. Shimer of Covington, Ky.; H.C. Shimer, of Detroit Mich., and F. G. Shimer, of Easton. Deceased was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. |
