Charles B. Shimer
Charles B. Shimer, 69, years old, a well known attorney of Covington Kentucky, and Cincinnati, Ohio died suddenly yesterday morning at his home in Covington. Death was due to a stroke of Paralysis.
Mr. Shimer was born at martin’s Creek, the son of the late Joseph D. and Isabelle Carhart Shimer, who resided for many years at 47 North Eighth street, this city.
Following his graduation from the Indianapolis Law School, Mr. Shimer began practicing law in Covington, Ky., and Cincinnati where he established himself as an outstanding attorney in both cities. During the Spanish American War, he served in the United States Army and since then has been active in the affairs of the Spanish American War Veterans.
Mr. Shimer was a frequent visitor in this community among his relatives and many friends and upon several occasions was a speaker at the Shimer Family reunions.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Hazel Shimer, he is survived by two brothers, Frank G. Shimer, of Easton, and the Rev. Herbert D. Shimer, D. D. of Schenectady, N.Y.; a sister-in-law Mrs. Grace L. Shimer, a niece Miss Frances G. Shimer and nephew, Howard C. Shimer of Belvidere Road, Phillipsburg.
Funeral services will be held Friday at the Missy and Titus Funeral Home, Indianapolis. Indiana and interment will be in the Indianapolis cemetery.
