Harold R. Seip, 20, Found Dead At Wheel of Car
Harold Robert Siep, 20, of 82 Broad Steet, Philipsburg, was
found dead today at 4:05 a.m. at the wheel of his car parked
in the closed garage at the rear of hishome.
The youth was slumped in the front seat, and the car's engine
was runnig when the discovery was made by the boy's father,
Clarence F. Seip, also of the Broad Street address.
The Phillipsburg Emergency Squad after working for more than
an hour in a futile attempt to revive the boy took him to Warren
Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:12 a.m. by Dr. Paul
. Drake, deputy Warren County physician.
Dr. Drake said the death was a suicide and was due to asphyxiation
from carbon monxide poinsoning. The body was removed to the
Bender funeral home.
The boy's father made the discovery after he investigated
when he became worried after finding the boy was no in his
room. Members of te family could offer no reasons for the boy's
action.
Born in Phillipsburg, Aug. 25, 1931, Harold was emplyed for
the last five yeasrs in teh A nad P super market on Bushkill
Street, near Front. He was a member of Phillipsburg High School
Class of 1949, St. John's Lutheran Church, Easton, and was
a corporal in Headquarters Company, Third Battalion, 102 Armored
Calvary Regimnet, New jersey National Guard.
His mother is the former Mary Chanda. Surviving in addition
to his parents, are three brothers, Clarence R. Seip, with
the Navy in theh Mediterranean area; Carl S., with the Anti
Aircraft Artillery at Ft. Bliss, Tex., and Raymond M., at home,
his paternal grandfather, Benjamin F. Seip, of Easton, and
his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Micheal Chanda of Brainards. |
