Mrs. Sophie E. Daws, 89, formerly of 517 Clinton Ter., Easton,
died Monday in Muhlenberg Hospital Center. She was the widow
of Hayward E. Daws.
She was a clerk at Grollman's, a ladies clothing store,
Easton, for 20 years before retiring in the early 1970s.
Before that she was a clerk at the former Bush and Bull Department
Store, Easton, for many years.
Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late George M.
and Mildred (Gillen) Rogers.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Phillipsburg.
Survivors: Son, John H. Sr. of Tatamy; brothers, Harold
of Easton, James of Palmer Township and Gilbert of Belvidere,
N.J.; sister, Dorothy Jacobous of Vista, Calif., and three
grandchildren.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the church. Call 7-8:30
p.m. Wednesday, Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton
streets, Easton. |
