Edwin H. Paulus, 92, Ex-Area Dairy Owner
Edwin H. Paulus, 92, died yesterday in his home, 437 Maple
Ave., Huntington, Pohatcong Township. He had been under a doctor's
care. He was a former owner of Paulus Dairy that served the Easton-Phillipsburg
area.
A Construction carpenter for many years, he worked out of
Easton Local 239. Prior to that he was employed by Warren Foundry,
Phillipsburg. He retired in 1966.
Born in Lopatcong township, on Oct. 22, 1883, he was a son
of the late Edwin H. and Isabella Garrecht Paulus. He formerly
lived in Phillipsburg R.D.1.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg.
He was a graduate of Jones business College, Easton.
His first wife, the former Ethel N. Metzgar, died in 1912.
His second wife, the former Esther Houck, died in 1962.
Surviving are six sons, Edwin H. of Mystic Island, N.J.; Robert
D. and William T. both of Phillipsburg; Jack D. of Shimer Manor,
Pohatcong Township; Dale N. of Washington, N.J., and Richard
J., with whom he lived; four daughters, Mrs. Frances C. Jones,
Wilson; Mrs. Ethel M. Walters, Phillipsburg; Mrs. Dorothy Jenny,
Annandale, and Mrs. Esther May Willever, Lopatcong township;
a brother, Frank of Phillipsburg, 33 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Rupell funeral
Home, Phillipsburg. Interment will be in St. James Lutheran
cemetery.
